BACKGROUND
The Transportation Committee at its meeting of 7 June 2017, approved the following motion, which was added to the agenda pursuant to subsection 89(3) of the Procedure By-law (By-law 2016-377):

WHEREAS sidewalks provide safe connectivity to pedestrians of all ages and abilities within the community to transit, schools, employment and recreational facilities; and,
WHEREAS the 2013 Ottawa Pedestrian Plan identifies a sidewalk on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, from Champlain Street to Tenth Line Road, as a Phase 1 Project; and
Whereas following consultation with the residents of the roadway the vast majority did not support this construction,
Therefore be it resolved that the construction of a sidewalk on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard, from Champlain Street to Tenth Line Road, be removed from the Ottawa Pedestrian Plan and that funding be re-allocated towards the implementation of another sidewalk project in the Ottawa Pedestrian Plan.
