RIGHT OF WAY, HERITAGE AND URBAN DESIGN SERVICES

APPLICATION TO ALTER 255 MACKAY STREET, A PROPERTY LOCATED IN NEW EDINBURGH HERITAGE CONSERVATION DISTRICT, DESIGNATED UNDER PART V OF THE ONTARIO HERITAGE ACT

That the Built Heritage Sub-Committee recommend that Planning Committee recommend that Council:

1.            Approve the application to alter the building at 255 MacKay Street according to plans submitted by Robertson Martin Architects, received on June 8, 2018;

2.            Approve the application to demolish the existing garage and build a new garage on Avon Lane, according to plans submitted by Robertson Martin Architects, received on June 8, 2018;

3.            Approve the landscape plan submitted by Robertson Martin Architect, received on June 8, 2018;

4.            Delegate authority for minor design changes to the General Manager, Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development;

5.            Issue the heritage permit with a two-year expiry date from the date of issuance;

6.            Suspend the notice required under Subsections 29 (3) and 34 (a) of the Procedure By-law to consider this report at its meeting on June 27, 2018, so that Council may consider this report within the statutory 90-day timeline.

(Note: The statutory 90-day timeline for consideration of this application under the Ontario Heritage Act will expire on July 5, 2018.)

(Note: Approval to alter this property under the Ontario Heritage Act must not be construed to meet the requirements for the issuance of a building permit.)

1.            Approve the application to demolish the building and garage at 90 Crichton Street according to plans submitted by Dustin Design Drafting, received on May 2, 2018;

2.            Approve the application for new construction at 90 Crichton Street according to plans submitted by Dustin Design Drafting, received on May 2, 2018;

3.            Approve the landscape plan for 90 Crichton Street according to plans submitted by Dustin Design Drafting, received on May 2, 2018;

4.            Delegate authority for minor design changes to the General Manager, Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development;

5.            Issue the heritage permit with a two-year expiry date from the date of issuance.

That the Built Heritage Sub-Committee recommend that Planning Committee recommend that Council:

1.            Approve the application to alter the building at 423-425 McLeod Street according to plans submitted by Robertson Martin Architects, revised on May 29, 2018;

2.            Approve the demolition of 443 and 447 Kent Street according to plans submitted by Robertson Martin Architects, revised on May 29, 2018;

3.            Approve the application to construct a new building at 443 and 447 Kent Street according to plans submitted by Robertson Martin Architects, revised on May 29, 2018;

4.            Delegate authority for minor design changes to the General Manager, Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development;

5.            Issue the heritage permit with a two-year expiry date from the date of issuance.

(Note: The statutory 90-day timeline for consideration of this application under the Ontario Heritage Act was extended and will expire on December 31, 2018.)

APPLICATION TO ALTER THE CHÂTEAU LAURIER HOTEL, 1 RIDEAU STREET, A PROPERTY DESIGNATED UNDER PART IV OF THE ONTARIO HERITAGE ACT

That the Built Heritage Sub-Committee recommend that Planning Committee recommend that Council:

1.            Approve the application to alter the Château Laurier, 1 Rideau Street, a property designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, based on plans received on May 9 and 30, 2018;

2.            Delegate the authority for minor design changes to the General Manager of Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development and direct the General Manager to provide a report on the use of this delegated authority to the Built Heritage Sub-Committee prior to registration of the Site Plan Control agreement;

3.            Issue the Heritage Permit with a three-year expiry date from the date of issuance.

4.            Suspend the notice required under Subsections 29 (3) and 34 (a) of the Procedure By-law to consider this report at its meeting on June 27, 2018.

(Note: The statutory 90-day timeline for consideration of this application under the Ontario Heritage Act will expire on August 7, 2018.)
